The combined organic layers were dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated to give 7a (3.74 g, 95% yield) as a white solid. 1H NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3): delta = 3.46 (t, J = 6.6 Hz, 2H), 2.80 (t, J = 7.4 Hz, 2H), 2.25 (s, 3H), 1.70 (m, 2H), 1,52 (m, 2H), 1.40-1.30 ppm (m, 4H); 13C NMR (125 MHz, CDCl3): delta = 195.8, 44.9, 32.4, 30.6, 29.3, 28.9, 28.0, 26.3 ppm.
