The resultant crude oil was purified by column chromatography on silica gel to obtain 2.29 g (yield: 97%) of 1,1-diethoxy-3-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-2-propyne as colorless needles (melting point: 62.5-63.0 C.).
