The resulting mixture was stirred and heated at 100 C. for 18 h. The r.m. was cooled to r.t. and partitioned between H2O and DCM. The combined organic layers were dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by flash column chromatography over silica gel (eluent: DCM/MeOH from 100/0 to 98/4). The product fractions were collected and concentrated in vacuo, yielding 4.5 g of intermediate 55 (52%).
