In the presence of hexaethylphosphorus triamide (HEPT), perfuoroisopropyl iodide is reacted directly with perfluoroalkyl acid halides, trifluoromethanesulfonyl fluoride, and methanesulfonyl chloride ir benzonitrile to give the corresponding fluorinated ketones and sulfones.
