After 20 minutes substitutedbenzaldehyde (2 mmol) was added and the reaction mixture was stirredfor the time indicated in Table 3, while being followed by TLC. Aftercompletion of the reaction, the thick precipitate was filtered off andwashed with ethanol (3 × 5 mL) to give the pure product 4.
