The solvent was removed under reduced pressure, and the residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate and passed through a silica gel plug, to provide 7-BENZYLOXYMETHYL-8- (4- cyanomethoxyphenyl)-1, 3-dipropyl-1, 3,7-trihydropurine-2, 6-dione, a compound of formula (7)
