The reaction flask was capped and stirred at room temperature for about 5 minutes, after which the mixture was heated to 80 C and stirred for 24 hours. After cooling the reaction vessel to room temperature, it was quenched with water (10 mL).Extracted with methyl tert-butyl ether (3 ¡Á 10 mL), dried with Na 2 SO 4Filter and concentrate under vacuum. Purified by column chromatography,The eluent is petroleum ether: ethyl acetate = 10:1 (v/v),49 mg of methyl 7-methyl-2-(phenoxymethyl)-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-5-carboxylate (white solid, yield 82%).
