A stirred solution of Intermediate 71 (0.8 g, 2.42 mmol) and 1-iodo-2-(2-iodoethoxy)ethane (0.38 mL, 2.67 mmol) in anhydrous DMF (16 mL) was cooled to -l5C30 and purged with nitrogen for 5 minutes, then caesium carbonate (3.16 g, 9.69 mmol) wasadded.
