General procedure: An argon-filled flask wasadd the respective aryl halide (1.0 mmol), CuI (20 mg, 0.1 mmol, 10 mol%), L3(37 mg, 0.1 mmol, 10 mol%), KOH (168 mg, 3 mmol), thiol (1.5 mmol) and glycerol(10 mL).
