General procedure: In a 10-ml round-bottom flask equipped with a condenser, a mixture of the aromatic amine (2 mmol), ethyl acetoacetate (1 mmol), and [Pyridinium-SO3H]HSO4 (0.0,385 g, 15 mol %) was stirred at 100 C for 10 min. The recovered catalyst was washed with EtOAc (2 x 10 ml), dried, and reused, without considerable catalytic activity decrease.
