The crude product was purified by column chromatography (CH2Cl2) to give 1.6 g (94%) 3-(6-chlorohexyloxy)-3′,4′-dibenzyloxyflavone. 1H NMR (CDCl3): delta 1.36 (m, 4H, CH2), 1.68 (m, 4H, CH2), 3.47 (t, 2H, J=6 Hz, CH2Cl), 3.99 (t, 2H, J=6 Hz, OCH2), 5.23 (s, 2H, OCH2Ph), 5.27 (s, 2H, OCH2Ph), 7.03 (d, 1H, J=8 Hz, C5’H), 7.25-7.5 (m, 12H, 2* OCH2Ph+C6H, C8H), 7.66 (dt, 1H, J=7 Hz, 2 Hz, C7H), 7.71 (dd, 1H, J=8 Hz, 1 Hz, C6’H), 7.80 (d, 1H, J=1 Hz, C2’H), 8.23 (dd, 1H, J=7 Hz, 2 Hz, CSH).
